Week 10

Big dreams can mean so many things. We are taught as kids that we can be whatever we want. Now, that is true. There are still limits to what we can do. But we still have limits on what our dreams can be. You can dream as big as walking on the moon. You can even dream of doing something that has never been done before. No one walked on the moon before Neil Armstrong. Before that happened, it was thought to be impossible. Before it happened, there was an idea, a spark of innovation. Without dreaming big, nothing would be invented. Thinking about all the things we enjoy or use daily, without someone thinking outside of the box, those things would not exist without those people breaking out of the status quo.

What is more limiting to your dreams is if you are desperate to please others or stick to the status quo. A quote says, “no need to think outside the box; simply realize there is no box.” The limitations are only limiting when you believe they are limitations. You must first understand that achieving your dreams, especially big ones, will not be easy. You’re going to see a lot of progress, but progress is not a linear process. You may see big leaps of progress one minute, then feel that you are plateauing or sliding back the next. The nonlinear feeling of progress will make you think you should give up. Giving up is forever. When you succeed, you will feel a more significant accomplishment because the journey of getting there is more challenging. Whatever your dream may be is something you should be passionate about. Passion is what is going to drive you. You are going to want to work harder to achieve that dream.
