Week 02

       Randy Pausch makes so many good points in his last lecture. He was able to achieve his childhood dreams because he never let anything stop him and his parents did not stop his creativity, even when it involved the walls in his home. Dreaming is important because it helps us experience things we would never think of otherwise. Even if the dream is impossible it helps by giving us the confidence to go after something that we want. Dreaming is not going to hurt anyone, in fact, people who dream big are often happier than the people that settle for less. One of my childhood dreams was to have a job that involved animals in any way. I know I can achieve this because there are so many different jobs that involve animals. The job I am working towards involves dogs and I know if I went back in time to tell myself what I eventually will do, she would be ecstatic.      My favorite part is when he says that brick walls are not there to stop us, they are ...

Week 01

Understanding the purpose of the course sets the expectations for what to expect. For example, understand that through this class I will understand more about myself. I will make and choose "executive habits" and hopefully continue them in my life, not just in my career, but in my daily life as well. Similar to life, getting to what’s known as the star, or the end goal, takes stepping stones, and many trials, and errors. It’s never going to be easy, in fact, most of the time it will be difficult. We will go through many jobs and experiences before we get to the star. I have gone to multiple colleges not knowing what I wanted to do, without doing that and many other experiences that I didn’t necessarily enjoy, I wouldn’t have the end goal I have now, which I truly am passionate about. Plus, I wouldn’t have the job I have and with that wouldn’t have the people in my life I do. Experiences and trials get us to where we need to be and whom we need to have in our lives, either f...
